Yeah thanks.

The metal bar that the cooler is bolted to, how have you fixed that to the car?

My cooler is about half the size of yours so im not planning on cutting the impact bar

It's all bolted to the crash bar mate, the next time the bumper is off I'm goin to remake the support bracket in thicker steel.

I assume yours is the same as mine Croc, I just bolted a L shaped bracket to the back of the crash bar and fixed the intercooler to that. I don't think I took any pics and the front bumper won't be coming off until next week at least.

I think mine is a 550x140x65 cooler, im sure it will fit below the crash bar.

I've already moved the power steering cooler as i had to make a new one out of 10mm copper tube due to a leak and just made it to fit higher up

Yeah that sounds about right, 13 rows or something. The only issue I had was with the center crossbeam (whatever it's called), I just needed to trim that and I stuck the P/S cooler the other way around. The little bump in it thats used to get over the crossbeam got in my way.

Hi all,

Firstly I'm struggling to centralise the merc pulley on the waterpump, I'm within 0.1mm off...

So, a Plan B.
I virtually never use the air-con (wouldn't miss it).
The ribs on the crank pulley, air-con drive, line up with the pulley on the s/c (4PK belt only).
So with a longer belt (first measurement of 112mm aprox.), it should be possible to drive the s/c with the crank pulley.
Only issues i can foresee is the waterpump cap/studs fouling the belt... Should be able to overcome this by repositioning the tensioner.
&
The size of the OD of the crank pulley, don't want to overspin the s/c

Thinking outloud really.

not a bad option if it works mate!
I imagine the crank pulley is slightly bigger than the normal charger pulley, so a little more boost but should work

A quick google says others in the past have considered the same root.
Nothing documented for success, or lack of though.

Using rough figures on pulley sizes;
Crank 144mm (5.7")
W/pump 122mm (4.8")
S/C 100mm (4")

Using the merc pulley from the waterpump gives aprox - 8.9K RPM @ the S/C
Using the crank direct to the S/C gives the same RPM @ S/C

I'd say 0.1mm tolerance is well within the acceptable range. My pulley wobbles a bit without any belt tension.

I've read people running these superchargers up to 14k rpm, whether that's internet hearsay i don't know, I certainly won't be pushing my charger anywhere close to them speeds. If running off the crank pulley, which you say is 144mm, ain't you gonna be getting close to having to go the bigger injectors etc etc route?
