Its the alarm siren assy in the boot, sounds like the backup battery in the unit has gone/going? you can get a new battery for it but they cost a stupid amount of money(£90) from lexus? not sure what type they are but might be able to get a cheaper variant? but the battery part number is 89724-48010, and the part number for the whole unit is 89040-53011 (£354) so might be better getting one from a breakers or just unplugging it for the time being? Smile

Mine was on the drivers side mate in the boot, behind the boot lining? iirc its held on by 2x 10mm nuts and can be unplugged if needed Smile

Yeah, that is where the Alarm is kept.

Thats not cool ! So another question thats just come to mind. If i was to ignor it, and leave it, would that void my insurance seeing as they will think it has an alarm ?

It'll still have the alarm mate, think its just a back up if the main power fails or is cut Smile

Try and unplug it mate, and then sit in the car lock it with the remote and then open a door to see if the horns still sound?

Yeah I tried that, but like I said, I’m having a lil problem with my horns at the moment, so they didn’t work with the alram.

I've never noticed the sounder separately myself. It's the fact that your horns don't currently work that is showing up the problem with the sounder. Once you get your horns fixed then it'll probably be fine again, and it'll be up to you whether you want to fix the sounder unit as Bandit suggested. I can't imagine there will be an insurance problem.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

So is this sounder a back up in case the horns fail? I can't really see the point of it if it's so quiet - unless it's really loud on the inside of the car, similar to how your house alarm will have an internal and external sounder.

I'm curious myself now, I may well take out the fuse for my horns and set my alarm off, just to see what it's like Big Grin

If it was loud enough, it sounds like it would be a decent alarm.

I’ve had some factory fitted car alarms that sound like cats meowing, alarm clock bleeping and some weird fast paced buzzing sound.
