Been a really happy customer of theirs for several years but very recently they've started slipping, I have a number of things that I wasn't particularly happy with and then with today's MOT I'm quite disappointed........

Not the biggest issue, but they said they had to swap out my sidelights as the "blue" ones I had would have failed. I told them they weren't blue, and were just LED so whiter, but just said whatever, paid the bill and left as I was in a bit of a rush.

Only looked at the bill a short while ago and noticed they charged me £4 for those bulbs! Not that it's a lot of money but I never needed them in the first place!

It's a shame that one of the few remaining "proper" Lexus dealers also seems to now have just become "another dealer" - hope they do the usual follow up customer service call as I'll have a bit more than just the usual "everything was great" to tell them (it's not just the bulb thing, I have a few things to complain about if they ask for it) :thumbup1:

It's funny that, the reason that Lexus Woodford was always so fantastic is that they're not one of these franchise chains, they're privately owned (Hills Toyota) and a one-off (as far as I believe).

So either they've been bought out by someone else, or they've decided that with the credit crunch they're going to save some pennies and offer the same service as everyone else........

Hope these are one-off though, and things will be back to normal soon Smile

Marsdendean i think i paid £4 for my tower led white ones!!! How did the MOT go?
I know, there's £2 for each bulb on my bill, it's ridiculous! Silly thing is the same thing happened last year with my MOT, although it was with the HIDs which was more acceptable, they put in halogen headlamp bulbs (which must be more expensive) completely free of charge!

MOT was fine otherwise though, no problems at all :thumbup1:

Who was it you dealt with in the service department? I've never had any problems with them at all.

jsj24uk Who was it you dealt with in the service department? I've never had any problems with them at all.

That is actually a good point, all my bad experiences have been with a new person, Jo.........haven't dealt with James or Cat in a while actually......

But there's been so many things, didn't come back to me with a price for fitting TTE springs and exhaust after I asked twice - were really reluctant in the first place, and took quite a bit of convincing before they'd even believe that they were Toyota parts........

Then booked my MOT originally for Friday (tomorrow) and I specifically asked for a courtesy car as I was quite busy - they said that was fine. Called me last week and changed it to Thursday as their MOT guy wasn't in on Friday so shouldn't have been booked then. Worst part was they then called me on Wednesday (yesterday) and said I couldn't have a courtesy car anymore so had to find some way to get the car there with half a days notice - wasn't impressed at all. Then the mess with these bulbs made me very disappointed, hence this post.

If I didn't know any better could have sworn I had been dealing with an Audi dealer :w00t:

I used to always make a point of dealing with James specifically, lately I've not been so bothered and just gone with whoever picked up the phone, think I'm going to go back to asking for James again Smile

Parthiban,
If you want a specialist garage that not to far away and they will lend you a car for the day at around £5 per day then try Westfield motors these guys are really nice and they do every thing from air con recharge to MOT and engine builds plus your servicing.
I have been using them for years now and these guys know their stuff.
They are based in ESSEX so if you need thier details just let me know.
I am booking mine in for a service later today.

To be fair they were as helpful as ever when I had my service a few months ago, it's been within a really short space of time that things have suddenly fallen apart - going to give them another chance and then will see about taking my business elsewhere if things don't improve.

Both sides used to be brilliant, and I think Lexus must still be (as James is still the service manager) but I've been dealing with the wrong people, think I'll have to avoid dealing with Jo wherever possible - it's not that it's malicious, think she just doesn't really have a clue.........

Have you got HIDs and LED sidelights btw? If so beware of any charges for new bulbs!

There was a bit of extra comedy yesterday where someone phoned in asking what size engine was in the RX450h - the receptionist asked it out loud, question bounced around the dealer with people saying 3.3, 3.5 and just generally not knowing so I just went up to her and quietly said it's a 3.5

That's what made no sense, mine has always sailed through, last year they only swapped out the HIDs because they said it was a new machine that was stricter on the beam.

In any case they swapped out for standard bulbs for free, but the sidelights were fine. Why they've now picked up on the sidelights this year is bizarre - if it was just to earn an extra £4 out of me it's a very odd strategy to take.
