Just a question for everyone's opinions

Had a experiance at Argos which I thought you cant get better service.

I bought a USB pen drive from them yesterday and its not plug and play and would not work on my media adaptor on my tv.

So I took it back, but to my suprise I had not noticed on the receipt it states exempt from money back garuntee, so unless they was something wrong with it I could not return it.

Went in told them that I needed one which is plug and play and this aint so want to change it, she pointed out the receipt and said I couldnt, so I accepted couldnt agure with whats written and was about to walk out when she said give me one minute ill speak to my manager

expecting another no, she came back and said no problem, we can refund or change it !

Proper suprised, maybe the service is top class because its a brand new store in our town (its got catalouges and touch screen computers for searching for products !)

What do you think, is customer service getting better, I have noticed alot of companies are making an effect

They probably only refunded as you was going to buy another one, so really it isnt a loss to them. And also, companies will try and serve us lot better, as at times like these, every customer is vital. They need a good repuation to attract other customers EG "Saraj: Customer service at Argos was great" may make other people give them a try.

You will see other companies following suit, helping with whatever they can. Although, when we finally get out of a recession, it may start to sway back

Always good to get decent customer service but it is to rare.

Makes you laugh some times when you walk into a showroom like a car one and the salesperson looks down there nose at you, even if your spending more than they earn in a year, not that i do this to often...Blush

I've found argos customer service to always be great - I've actually found though in a lot of cases CS has been getting worse recently as they're trying to reel in costs.

Marsdendean We have had those touch screen machines for years! Argos are normally quite good, they gave me my money back on a freeview recorder which was 2 months old after changing it 3 times!

there new to me ! lol

yh to be honest Argos always had good CS, specially when returning stuff.

This time I found it to be superb customer service, its getting better and better which I like to see

Times like these you can't afford to loose a customer.
