Windows Seven
Windows Seven
Benefits over Vista = it actually works!
Had Windows 7 for a few months and I can't really fault it. Been using it since microsoft allowed the RC to be downloaded. Much faster and smoother then Windows Vista.
If the machine just for home then Windows 7 Home Premium will be more then enough, unless you want to join up to a domain network, in which case Pro or Ultimate will be needed.
I would highly recommend it!
ive had for about a month and it blows vista away, fast start up and no probs , recomended. easy too use as well, money well spent, vista was verry ram hungry!
Everyone has said it's pretty good, and it does seem Home Premium is all you really need.
Was playing with it on a few laptops while out shopping for one yesterday, can you switch off the grouping of windows on the taskbar? I may be the only one but I don't like the way macs group them together (and seems microsoft has now copied it) as it's not as quick to just flick between two windows........

Anees Feels much more like a mac in as much that its smooth and doesn't seem to bog down like Vista used to.
