Ok here we go... Im a pulsar nutBig Grin Ive owned 4 of these babies now and a sunny sr gtir look-a-like lol
My first gtir was stolen from me back in 2007 anfter owning it for 3 yearsSad
14 months later i bought another one off my friend, but after 6 months i realised i couldnt afford to run it at that timeSad so sold itSad
I realised i had made a mistake so decided to buy one for a project and found a previuosly rallied one, full msa log books and fia welded in cage etcBig Grin
after owning it for a while i decided it wouldnt be practical so sold it and bought one that had standard interiorBig Grin
This is where im at now, at first i had a few problems ( forged engine wasnt forged and a piston was blown:angrySmile

we've rebuilt the engine now and its now forgedBig Grin

The car is in good condition but neads some tlc (cosmetic)

anyways, ive not had it long so dont have many pics of itBlush

Looks nice mate, the colour looks good and I think the wheels suit it too.

What's the story with the bonnet ?

Looking forward to seeing how the engine develops

Thanks. i did toy with powder coating the alloys black, but ive decided against it.

Im hoping to have the engine run in to run some boost in the next couple of weeks. prob just run 1bar of boost for the first 1000 miles then turn it upto 1.5bar after its had its service.

Ive done about 300kms in it now and we are changing the oil over this week. i will run another 300kms and then put the fully cynthetic silcolene pro s in for 1000 miles.

Love your car mate.
HAs it proved reliable? I looked at getting one, but I do hi millage, and they seem a little expensive to run.
Good luck with it though, and get some more pics up!
Have you taken it out in the snow??

I had one with 150K miles, ran fine only broke when a thief added flames to the interior - not a good mod.........

Someone said the gearboxes are weak though?

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

Thanks James.

The gtir is as reliable as you treat it mate. i guess this is the same with every 20 year old performance car tho!?
Ive had 4 now and havent been left stranded anywhere, but ive heard many stories of other people being stranded in theirs lol
They are expesnsive to run they average between 15 and 20 mpg driving like miss daisy. plant that right foot and you will see half a tank of fuel gone in half an hour.

Im still running the engine in so i have only driven like miss daisy in the snow. Im not one for taring up everywhere so the fun of snow drifting etc dosnt really interest me. i would rather not risk pranging it up a gutter etc

That dosnt mean i dont open it up tho! far from it. i love the raw power of the pulsar and if you have it, its only right that you use it! i pick and choose who i want to play with lol

I will stick some more pics up once ive taken some, im just prepping another front bumper so it will be after thats finished and on the car.

2tongues I had one with 150K miles, ran fine only broke when a thief added flames to the interior - not a good mod.........

Someone said the gearboxes are weak though?

My first one was taken by some pikey thief and never seen again.

the gtir has had the weak gearbox talk thrown at it for years mate. yes some break, so do scooby and evo boxes.
if you try and launch a gearbox all the time its going to break.

plus if you are going to up the bhp and torque eventualy it will let go.

most gtirs are running over 300bhp and they have uprated clutches, this means theres more clamping force on the clutch and more power going through the box, if the clutch cant slip and the power is snatched through the gears. something is going to break!
This is in any car not just a gtir.

on the owners clubs we have sperts of people braking gearboxes then nothing for ages.

i havent ever broke a gearbox and my brother had his for 7 years and never did either.

My mate missed a gear in his and broke his.

I say its just a myth lol
