Stupidly dribbled some fuel on the paintwork yesterday after filling up - wiped it off straight away with some tissue but just wanted to check whether I need to clean the area thoroughly or is petrol not going to do anything to the paint anyway?

Dont think it will do any harm to tell you the truth , but no harm in cleaning the whole car thoroughly. :p

Thanks for that guys, planning to clean the car at the weekend but just wanted to make sure whether I need to do anything now or whether it could wait.

10-12-2016, 11:17 AM #9I was filling a coach up with Diesel, having a chat with the other driver and forgot about the filler held open with my mobile phone..... Anyway it didn't shut off automatically and we wasted 3ish gallons of fuel, we only noticed when it started to smell of fuel and the floor was wet on a sunny Belgium day. Oops, the boss found out because he wanted to know how we fitted more fuel into the tank than it could hold............
