You might find this useful - linky

Looks like the LSD was an option on the auto RS200 models.

On the IS200 you can tell what diff it has from the plate under the bonnet. I don't know if this works on the RS200 too, but have a look at this thread here.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Ideally I guess you would get hold of the manual gearbox that is used in the Altezza, i.e. one that fits with the 3S-GE engine. Not sure of exactly what is needed, perhaps someone who knows more about auto to manual conversion can advise ?

And I bet that's gonna be missions trying to find one of them.
I did think of the celica gearbox from the gt4.
I know that's 4wd but can it be converted if it fits???

Hi Chris, might seem a bt daft, but for the expense of replacing the gear box, would it not be worth just trading in your auto for a manual RS200? There are plenty about.
You might even find one with a LSD at the back too.
Get some pics up of your new car though, :thumbup1:

Hi James
doesn't seem daft at all.
But it all comes down to available funds at the time.
I paid 3k for my car. But the manual version was around 2k more.
But once I've got more available money I am after turboing my car with the mr2/celica engine. And this will be manual Wink

I'll put some pix up when I get to pc Wink

The Altezza manual box I have will fit yours 100%. I paid £350 for it. If you want to turbo your engine buy a turbo kit for the Altezza, you will get 260 - 280BHP with out an engine swap, but you will be at the maximum the engine can cope with without going forged. If you want to swap to the set up I have (3S-GTE) then expect to spend a lot of money - be cheaper to buy mine!!!!

The Auto box on the Altezza is the same as the IS200 one, they just have different bell housings. You could also get an IS200 manual box and buy an Altezza manual bell housing. Look in Ireland as there are loads out there.

Almost Finished has had teh Auto to Manual swap - PM him for costs.
