Right, im planning to instal mu HU soon, hopefully this weekend, and just want to know a few things to make the install as quick as possible.

1. The headunit i have has the external brain, im thinking i want to put this in the boot, if the cable is long enough. What side of the car can i get the cables through to the boot? Dont really want it under the seat, however i have the ipod connecter and again need to check how long the cable is.

2. What would be the best route to run the cables, down the passenger side or through the centre?

3. Have most used the brackets that come with the facia adaptor to fix the unit?

Plus any hints or tips would be great:thumbup1:

Cheers

I run electrics down the N/S and sound on the other side. However a few people on this site run RCA's and speakers straight down the middle, shorter cables and really easy to do also.

There is a hole behind the rear seat into the boot area on the top right hand side, plenty of room.

2tongues There is a hole behind the rear seat into the boot area on the top right hand side, plenty of room.

When you say right, do you mean looking at it from the boot or in the car?

There's definitely a hole on the right hand side of the boot (that's the drivers side) as that's where wozza and I ran the cable through for my nav voice recognition.

SHAHZ 3. Have most used the brackets that come with the facia adaptor to fix the unit?

You mean the plastic side pieces, to replace the metal OEM ones, that hold the a/c unit as well as the head unit ? I used those, yes.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

I'm struggling to remember all the details now, but I'm pretty sure the new ones have mounting holes for the a/c and you use that instead.
