Jason i don't have a obd11 scanner you can buy them off ebay for around £20

Once the parts are fitted you just reconnect the battery and the lights should go off...

I have been ringing him but all I get is I am too busy and havent had any time to look at your car, that is so annoying, tomorrow I will call him and ask him how much I owe him and pay for the car and collect it, he makes it sound like ive burdened him with my car

I have decided it will be better if I have the car and that way I can try what you guys are suggesting without it costing me a pound, well except for the parts, what do you guys think?

hello mate-that would seem to be your only option really-how mechanical are you though - ie will you be able to change the speed sensor thing yourself ?

I have never tried doing it but have a good understanding of what is required, I am willing to try, can't be worse than leaving at the mechanic and him not doing anything with it dont you think?

also can someone please recommend a good cheap obdII scanner, I found this on ebay, please let me know what you think:

On the battery thing, it's easier if you reset the ECU by removing a couple of fuses, see this post for full details. That way you don't lose the time on the clock, radio settings etc etc.

On the OBDII front, are you going to get one that needs a laptop or a standalone type (i.e. that just plugs in on its own, no laptap) ?

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

thanks Nick for the links you sent me, I have a laptop with xp and one with windows 7, xp will probably be alot more compatible as windows 7 hasn't been out long enough dont you think?

Stevie I would prefer a standalone as that way I do not need the laptop but from what I have seen it seems that the ones that require a laptop can do more, is that always the case with the obdII scanners?
