sorry guys I was away for the weekend but not in my lex unfortunately, itwas a hired car, at least it never cut off, lol, just cannot believe this problem is still going on.
I get the car tomorrow, mechanic begged me to keep the car till then cause he is adamant he can fix it, I doubt that very much as he has had the car almost 2 weeks now and has not managed to fix a thing, so tomorrow I will get to try all these ecu resets and that because he is refusing to give them a go, I will keep you guys updated
bad news problem is still there, what do I try first guys, I am up to try anything, can't do worse than what it is doing now I guess. The car cut off in a macdonalds drive thru, so embarassing, my fault for going through there with a problem lex. This time it cut off at standstill.
Before I take it anywhere else I just need some advice on where I go from here as I have spent more than enough on it already?
Nope he just wasted my time and he just left my car standing, he never charged me which I am glad about, can anyone help me as I am really stuck now
Would appreciate if someone could loan me an obd II scanner so I can read the codes myself, if need be il buy one but just trying to avoid spending money unecessarily now
jason did you get your old parts back-are you sure he even changed them ?
in my opinion you should -
no 1 - do an ecu reset
no 2 - if no 1 doesnt work buy an obd scanner and get the codes yourself which will only be the current problem codes as you have done an ecu reset ( please correct me if im wrong people with better knowledge than me )
no 3 - AT A GUESS - replace faulty speed sensor as discussed previously
no 4 - if still got problems apply a gallon of petrol and rub two sticks vigorously together in close proximity to the vehicle ( JOKE - i do not condone the maltreatment of sticks )
have you tried on ebay for a speed sensor?
