lexynik no 4 - if still got problems apply a gallon of petrol and rub two sticks vigorously together in close proximity to the vehicle ( JOKE - i do not condone the maltreatment of sticks )

Andy-R. Just a thought is there an airflow meter on the IS? could that be faulty making it run far too rich forcing the problemNo, the IS200 doesn't have a MAF sensor, it runs on MAP instead (air pressure).

Oh never mind then.
Lexynik, number 4 seems really good to try, lol, only joking
Stav I cannot seem to find any let alone get replies from people breaking is200's on ebay
Guys I was wondering, my underfloor catalytic converter is definitely dead and needs replacing, would the inside of the cat coming apart block exhaust gases or cause these kinds of issues?
Bandit if only I knew how to test the sensor, I have seen the directions but am not the most mechanically minded person
Bandit There's a way of checking the speed sensor HERE? not sure if it'll be any help??
Wonder if the wirings damaged going to the sensor??

Andy-R. It says on there that if the speed sensor breaks then it uses the input sensor as a back up so i'd guess if the problems related to this they must both need replacing.

lexynik jason did you get your old parts back-are you sure he even changed them ?
in my opinion you should -
no 1 - do an ecu reset
no 2 - if no 1 doesnt work buy an obd scanner and get the codes yourself which will only be the current problem codes as you have done an ecu reset ( please correct me if im wrong people with better knowledge than me )
no 3 - AT A GUESS - replace faulty speed sensor as discussed previously
no 4 - if still got problems apply a gallon of petrol and rub two sticks vigorously together in close proximity to the vehicle ( JOKE - i do not condone the maltreatment of sticks )

Okay I reset the ecu and drove it still the same problem, it cut off 5 times in a 1 mile trip. I bought some stuff called Catclean and put it in. I had to push the car the remainder of the 1/4 mile journey.
I however did make a discovery. I got home and it would not start so i kept on trying and trying and all it would do is just start up and cut off and the accelerator pedal felt loose like there was no pressure, as I kept on trying I decided I would just hold the accelerator down and as it started and was about to cut off as it normally would it just revved up again as I was holding the accelerator and the pressure came back to the accelerator, it seems the throttle body had closed and it reopened as I was holding the accelerator down, I haven't tried driving the car again but i have revved it vigorously and it has not cut off, i will try reset the codes and drive again early tomorrow morning, I think the accelerator pedal may be sticking, any ideas guys?
