I have never had any issues with Vista either except when I have not kept it upto date eg after a fresh install i upgrade and install all the service packs straight away.
TBH i prefer vista, but maybe its because i am used to it.
I found it was quicked to do a fesh install of W7 rather than upgede from vista.
if you look there are some very good downloads about!
have w7 running on 3 machines at home 2 laptops and the main desktop. it has been stable but only issue is some items dont like W7, this is a driver issue but newer items should be OK. eg wireless USB dongles etc.

Just ordered a MSI U130; Atom N450, 1.66ghz, 1gb RAM, 160gb with win 7 - £164 delivered!:thumbup1:......was looking at the samsung notebooks as they are supposed to be quite good, however were more expensive, without win 7, bluetooth & an older processor.
