Anyone running this yet?

Just installed it tonight and have to wonder why they wasted money on Vista Smile
Only been playing for an hour, so many new little things.

Visually not really much difference to Vista, but running a few tests on the two operating systems its a hell of a lot quicker and more stable under heavy load.
Hell of a lot different to XP though.
Still a very little niggles but it's only the release candidate.

I've been running it for a month or so, tried it on my old laptop when my new one arrived.

but loved it so much upgraded the new one as well.

I think i prefer the way the taskbar works on it, much nicer IMHO. but yeah seems to work so much better.
Apparently theres an XP mode (emulator thing) built in but i dont knwo how to find it.

Virtual XP can be downloaded from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual...nload.aspx
It will come with the Professional version, works a treat.

Yeah the taskbar is a lot nicer, the jumplists are a good idea, as is the little tab on the bottom right to show the desktop.

been running the 69 build beta for a while testing for microsoft, i'ts awesome.

Performance tests of the beta (not the RC) are already showing that win7 outperforms both vista+xp on high end and low end machines.

Here's some tests:

i had vista 2 years before release and i have to say i don't have a problem with it, the only thing that annoys me is how much you have to confiigure or tweak this is the benefit of win7 Smile

What I think is great about windows 7 is that if you turn off all the visual bits and bobs it will run faster than XP - which is quite an achievement considering how much more powerful the new Os is. Running this on both my laptop and desktop atm and while i'm coming across quite a few power management issues (which can be fixed by new drivers) it's as solid as a rock.

Was Supercharged Racing Green IS200 Sport. Now APR Stage 1 Seat Leon Cupra (220 Bhp).
