Do you know how to solder? if so i can walk you through the fix if you get a HKS FCD then you dont need the garage at all.

Crysec I've had some help in another forum, amazingly I posted the problem and it was anwered in about 10 mins. I'm not a mechanic, but 10mins for a positive diagnostic versus 2 months of Lexus not knowing what was wrong it pretty embarrassing for them I'd say.

That would have been from our very own Stav :thumbup::thumbup:

Welcome to the club by the way, and where are you from ??
Do you live in Aberdeen

Lexus IS200 Mods--TTE Supercharger, Tein Superstreet Coilovers & EDFC, 6000K HID Lights, HKS Silent High Power Exhaust, DBA Front Discs, Kenwood DNX9240 Head Unit, 19" Rims, TRD Kit, FIGS Bonnet Struts, Greddy Pillar Pod & Defi Gauges, TTE Red ARBS . And Been To WIM twice

better picture here --> http://xiiix.org/MyIS200tte.jpg
looks better than my house does =/

Ohh and to Lexusboy the code was "P1510, air pressure not high enough at intake manifold" which Stav got a fix for.. . many thanks stav!

I can solder fine, but to be honest the problem has been sapping at my soul for so long now I just informed Lexus with your diagnosis and the penny dropped with them. I'll let them do it and go to town if they charge for hours prior to fixing it. How bad is it that a customer has to inform you what's wrong =)

I'll know where to go next time for good advice, right here. I'm ok usually with mechanical stuff, but the electronic / diagnostic stuff is pretty hard to get my head round!

Thanks for the welcome Gord!

Yeah Moley, I'm in the Aberdeen area.. Monymusk, near Kemnay out in the sticks. I can inform you that the "Snow" button is as useful as a chocolate steeringwheel, but I guess you know that! Smile

That's what I was told Gord yes. The mechanic said and I quote, "In ten years of working on IS200s I've never seen a TTE". Coincidently check out the service history on this one I found today!

http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1485964.htm

But yeah, I should cut them *some* slack. I'm lumping "passion" with "work", they rarely mix.. .
