I think that The Stig meant animated GIF avatars. i.e. instead of just a static picture, the ones that move. e.g. The Stig's new avatar.

so its animated, or can create your own, ive created one and uploaded it but doesnt work obviously for the reasons above.
and thats way my pic of my car as avater has a white logo on the top left corner cause i used a trial version of software to create the GIF

And how come you get to display the mood you are in ??
And if the Stig is in an aggresive mood dont you think he should get a 10% warning for scareing the mear members
