It is absolutely heart breaking for me to write this, but still, needs to be done.

Ok, so here are some recent pictures of my car.

When I first got my car almost two years ago, I was quite fortunate, because I picked up for what was a pretty good price (at the time). It wasn’t in the best of state, simply because the person who I bought it from, didn’t view cars the same way we do, and it only needed some minor TLC to make it look a lot better.

On Saturday just gone, I took my car to what would be it’s 8th track day, but it’s first since lowering and being WIM’d.

Once again, IMO, it looked glorious, and I even had a couple of other IS owners come up and asked me questions about it.

Mainly “Are you really taking it on the track ?!?!”.

I don’t have any pics yet, but on track it handled a lot better, but the dampers still provided some lean. A set of stiffer shocks and good ARB would really make a difference.

After my two sessions, the car cooled down nicely, and still leaving me with a smile on my face.

However….

After getting home that day safely, I was meant to go to a BBQ at my girlfriend’s with some friends, that evening.

On my way there, it was just getting dark, and I was driving down a country road I have been down several hundreds of times. On a blind bend, a deer was in the road, and made me jump out of my skin.

I hit the deer, and spun the car into a sloped bank.

After several people not stopping to help, a very kind gentleman in a huge van, and a towrope pulled me out.

The car was not good.

This is as far as the door would open Sad

After having a long think about it, I reluctantly called the insurance company. The damage would have taken more out of my savings than I would like to spend on a car.

Today a huge double decker low loader came and took my car away to be assessed. I felt sick watching it being man handled onto the back of this lorry, and driven off.

I also have a very bad feeling the insurance company won’t look twice at it, and simply write it off.
Apart from the exterior damage, the car is still fine. It starts, and drives fine, and the only damage is on the front, and driver’s side.

In the past I have owned faster, better handling, and cheaper to run cars. But the Lexus has been the only car I have really loved, and looked after in this way. I am so annoyed that something silly like this, has resulted in me losing my car this.

Oh well i guess... It is just a car.

Gutted for you mate. I wouldn't be suprised if it's a write-off, looks like quite a lot of damage there.

At least you're ok. Don't suppose the deer came out of it too well though ?

Surely if the insurers deem it to be a write off there would be an alternative route. That damage looks expensive but doesnt look over the top. New Front Quater panel and Front bumper?

Jambo New Front Quater panel and Front bumper?

And the bonnet. And fixing up the mirror, the scratched door (assuming it's not bent too), and assuming nothing else has gone bent inside like the slam panel, rad etc Sad

Sounds like a horrible experience so glad you weren't injured. Unfortunately that does look like at least £2k worth of damage so there's a good chance of a write off but worth pushing them to repair if that's what you want.
