With the MR2 etc getting on in years now, does it make sense to try and insure it on a classic policy, thus freeing up the Mrs's NCB on another car

you may not be able to drive it at night or you may get other limitations on usage tho mate for example not going over a certain milage but probably depends on who you go with and what they offer

Its only going to do shows and the odd trip round MK, probably never at night. Miles will be far less then 6000 a year.

Its only going to do shows and the odd trip round MK, probably never at night. Miles will be far less then 6000 a year.

Doesn't the car have to be more than 30 years old or something for classic cover?

I could be corrected but 15 years on a standard build is the norm.
Not sure Phil if your car come under that area as i think yours is a import so i am not sure how this will stacks up.

There are pro's and con's of classic car insurance. They won't care about the mods for example, but you will be on very limited mileage and won't accrue any no claims. As mentioned above, they can have some other restrictions as well.

The no NCB is of no worry, because then the NCB is then transferable to a runabout car to save having to run the MR2 and risk damaging the body with stone chips etc. We both have full NCB anyway:tongue_smilie:
