Well I've been having a few bits done to my car to protect it and gain a bit of extra performance out of it. I have a TTE Compressor and I've been insured with Admiral for the past 7 years.

I declared the modifications to them (ie Intercooler, Modified Pulley System and Apexi Power FC) They came back to me and said they couldn't insure this car with those mods because it would increase my chances of having an accident?

What has puzzled me the most about this is that they insured me on a Modified GTO TT producing a hell of alot more power than my compressor ever will.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheapest quote I've had so far is Adrian Flux at around £900.

I'd be well chuffed if I can get insurance for £900 when I get a supercharger fitted in my IS200. lol

I'm with Admiral too, so good to know in advance that I may have to look elsewhere.

I'm with Bell at the moment, I was with admiral but Bell quoted me £200 less for an extra 2 months. I asked Admiral about a quote for coilovers, roll bars and brakes and they told me they can't insure me on this car, asked AF and Sky wouldn't insure me because I didn't have 2 years NCB.

Premium Choice - wouldn't insure me because the car was modified.

Sky - wanted over £2k

Performance Direct - Not tried them yet.

I'm 24 at the moment. i'm thinking of leaving the car in the garage until my 25th and just get a run around till then. It annoys me when you're as honest as possible with insurance companies. They simply bend you over a barrel :/

yep. My car is "standard" for this exact reason. My car is a lot safer now than it was before, when it wallowed all over the place, will be even more so when the brakes are installed. Not that I advocate insurance fraud, but keep everything low key and I bet half the inspection people won't know the difference if it came to it.

Same most my modifications are minor a part from the intercooler. I had to declare my OEM Brembo brakes because they were not stock. I have been offered £410 for my car as standard??
