I'm up for renewal at the end of March, hoping I don't get raped. I'll have my first years no claims by then, it was £900 odd this year. I suppose I should declare the recent suspension changes though.

I'm with flux and just had my renewal and it was bad so a simple call to them and they got it down by about 200 without loosing any of my benefits. Like most insurance companies they never drop on renewal and sometimes a call is all it takes

I have been recently quoted for the is200 avg £420-£450 fc
Strange as I've just transferred from my mr2 to the lex until it runs out in may and sky said there is no difference in price to the 2 and I'm paying £330 for that. Just had a admin charge to swap over car.

9 years no claims.

H was charged an extra £75 when we moved house, to a tiny village in the middle of nowhere for the Celica, the trans Am - no change. Will never figure out Insurance, they are all rip off merchants.

the one that stigs me off the most is if you lose your job your insurance will go up on average of a 1/3. Are they saying you will suddenly be a reckless joy rider whilst looking for a job?

guess it's the old phone around time. funny really when i had a bmw 125i for a short while the insurance on that was dirt cheap. half the price. not sure why the lexus should cost so much ? are us "modified" drivers that bad to insure ? i drive like a granny most of the time.

A few years back Maxpower (yes I said it MAXPOWER) did a study about insurance and how they don't seem to be the same across the companies

I.E if you fitted better brakes some would say its so you can brake later increasing the risk price goes up and some would say your being safer price comes down

Go figure

The thing is most insurance "companies" are fronts for larger businesses. And the larger companies use the smaller ones to segregate the clientele that they cover. That's why the price varies so much, and why it's best shopping round.
I have found swiftcover a good company to use, they cover a lot of basic mods at no extra cost and have good levels of cover.
But my most recent insurance is with Kwikfit, i'll just go with whoever is cheapest though.

Just renewed my insurance today with sky insurance. 6 years ncb 3 points and a total loss claim. £735 inc coilovers, cat back exhaust and 18" alloys not great but not terrible most other places were over £800 with no mods
