Nt really into my derv's....much prefer a petrol engine but recently had a turbo diesel courtesy car and did enjoy the low down grunt from it and it got me thinking.

Everybody is always going on about the rubbish MPG's from there IS200's but love the luxury.....IS200's are getting fairly cheap now....for what they are.

There been loads of threads and cars been converted to all sorts of engines but never any converted to diesel.

Could it be done??? Should it have been offered from Lexus themselves???
Would you consider it???

Just wondering for folks opinions

Normally with diesel, the attraction is the better mpg, saving you money over the long term. But if you spend a load of money doing a conversion it could take you a very long time to ever recoup that money. My guess is that's why no-one has bothered (similar with LPG conversions).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Would be a good idea but if you want a diesel just buy one in the 1st place anyone who buys an IS then moans about the MPG should be forced to give it back and walk:lol: probably wouldn't need this thread if petrol wasn't so expensive:angry:

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

Marsdendean I love oil burners. Just the way they produce power is quite good, but i hate the noise and low rev limits!!

Thats what I hate about them, the power is all in one bit lump then you hit the rev limiter.
