Nope still not interested in spending $70,000 on a supra.
Having said that i would not buy any car for £45- 50,000 even if it finished in this cars condition.
I sure there guys that have spent that sort of money over the years in getting there cars to that sort of standard in some of the car shows we have all attended.
There was a 300zx at Santa Pods that had lots of money spent on it.

I agree Ian it's a lot of money and not what I would buy with the money either (personally I would get a R34 GTR Nur Spec) but that said it's still a phenominal machine with amazing attention to detail both inside and under the bonnet.
I've seen that 300zx at JTS and it's hideous

So what is it about supras then, have to admit I don't get overly excited about them but I've never driven or even sat in one............what is it that makes you love them so much?
Wish I was nuts about supras, as they're far more affordable than the stuff I lust after :Fish:
Marsdendean I don't see the thing with supras, but been looking at skylines recently (r33 gts-r) and something does it for me!

Marsdendean ^^ Shame on you. I just don't like how Supra's look, althou that does not stop me admiring the work people put into them. Same with the IS-F, the front still looks like a sales car to me, but admire the car because of what it can do & the overall package!

What is it that does it for me about a Supra ?
I've been pondering all weekend on how .. and if .. I can put this in words. I've owned a lot of different cars and there's very little I haven't driven. Almost every single car I have owned has been a purchase of passion, it's sparked something in me when I saw it and I have had to be forcibly detached from my keys when it comes to parting with it finally.
These cars have given me a buzz when I drive them and a warm glowing feeling when they're complimented and a smile when I see them all shiny on the drive. This is nowhere near even close to describing how the Supra makes me feel. In my teens and twenties when I saw one I could feel my heart stop, then pound, my blood fizz round my veins and I could barely talk for ages ( thank god my friends arent here to say 'yes those were good times).
When I was finally passed the insurance cost burden, I ignored Supra for ages.. having had Capris, I knew rear wheel drive well ... and chose a succession of fast, powerful cars that handled well. Staying on four wheels and not drifting my way round roundabouts was somewhat reassuring for a long time. But the one thing I missed was ... excitement. Each and everyone of my 'sensible' cars was comfortable, responsive, reliable, practical, handled in wet and dry, fast and slow, snow and ice, corners and straights.. what's to fault? Nothing .. they made me smile when I saw them and I was happy to own them .. but did they make my blood fizzle, my toes curl, my heart pound ? Was driving them the most exhilarating, exciting, rewarding and must do every day experience ? No, far from it and that's what Supra does for me .. Maybe I'm just an adrenaline junkie but both my Supras have fire in their bellies and untamed power that they tease me with, they're feisty and firey and petulant and hungry.. they sit out side waiting and when they hear the front door bolts unlock they crouch like preying tigers ready to pounce on everything in sight. You can sit on the brakes and hold them back but they both scream constantly 'now? now? can we go now? c'mon.. faster' They give me odd moments of 'oh ****, at what angle are we going round this corner' but neither one has ever ever let me down once. (I am grateful to all my Capris though for the driving lessons learnt in them)
It's not the be all and end all for me at all but I think when you drive down the street and you see people stop and turn and smile and kids scream Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupra it says something about these cars looks. Come on how many times have you had crowds scream 'omg......... lexus is200' in your High Street !
Does that answer the question ?
