Carbon fiber TTE supercharger airbox (and the first ever made IS200)

I just thought I'd show you a few pics of the airbox that came with the supercharger kit TTE used to promote the IS200 Compressor.

At first I thought that only the top cover was covered in carbon weave, but no. The whole box is made of pure carbon fiber and the bottom part is just painted black for some reason.

I'm going to fit the supercharger kit to this car (see pics below), which is the first ever made Lexus IS200. It doesn't even have a VIN number and therefore can't be registered. It was used at various motor shows around Europe to promote the launch of the Lexus IS.

The car was then used in a Swedish movie called Livvakterna (Executive Protection) before it finally ended up in a hangar at an airfield near Stockholm. It belongs to a company that educates all sorts of drivers and it hasn't been used in a long time. In fact it only has around 100 miles on the clock, I was told.

I've just been asked by the company to fit the supercharger kit and in exchange they are going to lend me the airfield, the IS200 and a bunch of Lexus demo cars for one day for me to host the first Swedish Lexus meet Smile

I hope so. Lexus Owners Club - Sweden is quite a small club. Although we are 551 forum members most of them are just reading the threads without saying anything, so it's hard to tell how many are going to come to the meet.

OJC is of course invited to join :thumbup:

I just need to bring the car home to my garage before I can fit it. The problem is that I don't have the proper driver's license to use a car trailer or drive a lorry. A friend of mine is willing to help me with the transport and hopefully he's available tonight.

I'm guessing mid August.

Unfortunately Sara is currently working part time and can't really afford the Swiss trip. We would both really love to go and hopefully we can make it somehow. I'll let you know

Today was a beautiful, really hot day. I parked the cars in front of my parent's house and fitted the supercharged kit without any problems. I will record some videos in a few days.
