I know you mentioned not a big 4x4 but have you considered the RX300? I've never considered it with the big ones because it really isn't that big, I wouldn't say it's a huge amount bigger than a rav4 imho. Will give you everything you need in a very reliable and comfortable package

They're not so easy to swap Marsdendean, better off just buying a new set mate, they are not expensive really, labour costs as much as the springs!!!
