Nissan 350Z. Any common faults?
Nissan 350Z. Any common faults?
Hi guys,
My sister is possibly getting a Nissan 350Z. She has wanted one for quite a while but only now is she able to consider insuring and running it.
I might have the chance to get a very well priced 53 plate in Orange with 42K miles, leather, coilovers, 20" alloys, samco hoses, pioneer flip up screen etc etc from a friend of a friend who has to sell it to pay for his wedding.
Obviously 20" wheels concern me! Surely it will drive pants with wheels that big and the ride will be back breaking but the car has been looked after and pampered so can always take the wheels off anyway. Coilovers would be fun
Anything to look out for? I have read the interior build quality can be pretty poor.
Any other tips?
Thanks,
Anees

nope its the same engine they use in the velsatis or what ever its called.....
i used to work with the master tech for nissan.........just like the focus and the megan 225 use the volvo engine ford, volvo and reno aren't joined...companys dont need to be joined to use the other companys engines....mini use the yaris 1.4 diesel engine
here you go a list of what uses that engine.......
JDM and other markets
2001–present Renault Vel Satis 241 PS (177 kW; 238 hp)2002–present Nissan Skyline (V35) 272 PS (200 kW; 268 hp) and above

all the same engine but have diffrent maps for power etc
note at the top of the list vel satis... 3 years before the 350z........
right...here we go...lol...I really really want a 350Z after the lexus and from what research I've done in the past especially on the engine, from what I know its a jap built engine and shared across the range and of course with renault. the VQ35HR IIRC is the best one to go for but thats only on the newer cars. As for the older cars, Anees, judging by the age, is the car an import by any chance? If its an import then personally I wouldnt bother with it as the UK ones are specced a bit better I think. Also on pre 2007 cars the interior quality was quite low especially with the plastics on the dash but from 2007 they facelifted it and have apparently sorted out the interior. I'm still looking at the possibility of getting a 350Z but just has to be at the right price.
Is it a GT spec one btw?
