They have a known fault with the clutch cylinders on older models. You can spot it a mile off, when you depress the clutch pedal it kinda goes down in 2 stages (irrelevant to the biting point).

The VQ 35 in the Nissans are based on the engine block of the 3.5 ltrs engine as used by Renault in the Avantime, Laguna and some other renault I forgot.

However Nissan added their own cranks, conrod pistons and Head design


So just becuase it is a Renault block IMO its not a technically a Renault engine

IMO they are GREAT cars, yes they do have there problems like every other car on the market

Rear wheel drive ,300bhp, engine at the front, GREAT drifting car........... what more do you want lol

I would get one if they done a Turbo version lol

as a nissan tech for the last 10 years i cannot recomend these cars enough , not rearly any common problems, they share there engine with the merrano , just set up a little different, if the service history is good then i doubt u will go wrong, what a mega fun car! hope this helps
