Sounds like you need to stick with the iPhone mate, get it on Tesco mobile, that's how I'd do it if I wanted one.

Btw, I'm slightly confused by the iPhone - on the Apple store they're up for sale for £600. Sounds fair, what I don't get is why there are ones on ebay going for way more than that? And what's wrong with these morons anyway, why don't they just get it on a contract and get something back for all that money?

Yeah ebay is a bit odd, mate of mine wanted a new phone from O2, paid £80 PAYG... ebay but it now price? £95...

Weird, people must think nobody checks the "official channels" before resorting to ebay...

It's actually brilliant, equal to if not better than any portable satnav - it's just so much easier to use as you've got the full power of google maps when you want to find something and it works by voice. So just say where you want to go and it's programmed

Carpediem What about the HTC Evo 4G???

Great bit of kit, but has the same limitations as any other android phone for you mate.........

Won't be coming over here though because at present there are no plans for any UK network to invest in 4G tech.

An amusing thing someone at Vodafone was saying was that they were surprised at how many people were expecting the new iPhone to be 4G, and they had to tell everyone that's it's just the 4th gen phone but isn't 4G - tells you a lot about the majority of iPhone users

If you love the iPhone, then for most nothing else will do so go for the iPhone 4.

The Galaxy's hardware is far superior to the Desire, and could argue it's better than the iPhone 4 as well. However the current firmware is a bit buggy which makes it lag every so often. I've just rooted mine and upgraded to a custom firmware which has made it a lot smoother so it can be sorted.

There's actually another update I've been trying to do but can't figure it out (bl00dy computer programmers not explaining things properly for people like me) but going on the results of others that should make the thing fly.

Basically if you like to tinker then the Galaxy's probably the way to go, but if not play safe with the Desire.
