swapping front seats? whos done it?
swapping front seats? whos done it?
so basically i might have a set of s2000 front seats, so what will i have to do? customise my front subframes or customise the s2000 subframes? or buy some bucket seat subframes? any advise is appreciated!
JJ
S2000 seats fit recaro rails I think. Easiest way to do it is get some bride RO rails and some recaro aftermarket sliders. Very expensive though, also very difficult to get hold of RO mounts for the IS200.
I have another option I'm currently looking into, there is a guy in the states that makes custom brackets to fit recaro seats to IS200's. Should be a lot cheaper, but you will still need the recaro sliders.
I think Stav has just modified his standard rails with some nifty welding.
I did modify the standard rails but I found them too high to be honest.
The brides are the way forward but hard to find.
Well I think this could be a waste of time/money. Shame really as the seats where well cheap.
It's no hard to make the bride brackets to be honest, couple of universal rails and the it's just getting the actual mounts bent right to attach to the rails.
Stav - if you want to get rid of your welded mounts, I've got a set of recaros I need to fit in to my car and I do not want a super low rail. As long as they work ok
Sorry mate chopped up and weighed in already.
When I'm back home Tuesday i can take pics of the brides if you want to copy them?
I had some bride basemount rails but could not for the life of me get the recaros to fit, sold them on in the end. They had "SO" written on them, which as far as I know is not actually a mount made by bride (at least not any more).
How hard would it be to get a set replicated by a fabricator?
I'll take pics mate, but not a lot to be honest I don't think.
Universal sliders aren't too much,2 flat bar strengtheners across the bottom and 4 little mounting pieces, they would need to be bent to suit, though I could copy the angle of them with some card?
