Front Fog Lights
Front Fog Lights
I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any differences in the types of front fog lights used on the IS200?
I know around 2003> they changed to the darker colour and different bulb type. But was that it?
The reason why I ask if i'm about to fit my third set, simply due to the fact that they keep corroding! They get condensation in, water gets in and the bulbs corrodes in the back of the unit. Very frustrating and very expensive!!
My question is, is there meant to be some sort of protection like a rubber water proof cover on the backs? Did Lexus modify the later spec fog lights?
And is it only the darker ones that take the different bulbs?
Cheers
All is300s do have a yellow film behind the projector to make the bulb yellow Gord
they did change the bulbs older ones used hb4 then they changed them
the newer ones ran h3's
myself i would make a short loom so i didnt need to butcher the standard loom
mate theirs only two wires and you cant even muck them up
Common fault, water gets into the earlier style ones. Plus salt water isn't good for aluminium anyway.
The ones I have (post 03) have a H3 style bulb, with a plastic cap and a rubber seal over the back so the whole thing is water proof.
Correct me if I am wrong, I think Landrovers have a breather hole + rubber tube on the top of their fog lights do they not? This would allow the water that does get in through the seals to escape in the form of steam through the rubber hose as the lamp heats up the unwanted water???
Would this be a viable option to solve the IS200's fogs misting up?
