Hi all,
Just a quick question (And I'm pretty sure the answers likely to be "No"), But did any IS200 saloon come with folding rear seats? And if so, Can they be retrofitted into a non folding rear seat IS200?

Scotty B.

Air filter by K+N, Exhaust by Japspeed, Brakes by Mintex......... And a scuffed rear arch by my sister. Huh

No and no mate.

The massive metal plate behind the seats kind of stops it

I didn't know there was a bulkhead behind the trim, Oh well.

I had a vague memory of reading online somewhere that it was standard on later models....... But after a quick Google, It seems none of the Lexus range of saloons had folding rears. Odd !?!?

Maybe it was just a flash back from when I was researching 3 series BMW's. Before deciding on an IS200 I was playing with the idea of getting an early E46 325....... Before I test drove a few and realised that, with my (Curvy/deformed) back, they were the most uncomfortable thing I'd ever sat in.

I'm actually quite pleased about that. If they were comfy, I'd now be a BMW owner (And probably still sat at a junction, Waiting for someone to let me out. :biggrinSmile.

So did my Capri's, My Fiesta, Astra, Fiat 127's....... But knowing that doesn't help with the IS200 saloon's load lugging ability's either. :tongue_smilie:
My MX5 didn't have folding rear seats, But for longer loads you just folded down the roof and wedged one end down in the passenger side footwell (I wish I knew what happened to the "MX5 Practicality" picture I snapped when took a trio of seven foot tall fruit tree saplings for my mum's house for mothers day one year. Blush).
