Noob looking to get first IS200
Noob looking to get first IS200
Hi guys, I've been toying with the idea of getting an IS200 for a while now, and after looking about the net, on here and Lexus Owners sites, I thought I'd just ask you guys what you think about one I've spotted;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370630701346?s...052wt_1378
It ticks nearly all the boxes on my list; mileage isn't too high, manual, Sport, standard apart from Aero kit (which is a plus), and generally looks (from the small pics) to be tidy. The only things it doesn't tick is ideally I wanted an '02 on, metallic grey, and the black leather/alcantara interior - and the interior is my biggest worry here
How easy are these cream/tan interiors to destroy in terms of them getting grubby? I really don't wanna be one of those guys that drives everywhere with seat covers on, but at the same time I don't want it to end up looking crappy cos it gets dirty too easily.
It's a hell of a long way (about 3hrs each way) for me to go see it, so I kinda need to be certain before I do
Also, since the reg is happily in the public domain, does anyone know the car at all?
Thanks!
Firstly great choice in colour, however in regard to price not let you know I picked up mine which is a Y 2001 and had 84k on the clock I paid the same price 3 years ago,
With regard to the cream as long as you look after it you should be ok but I would always recommend getting black, 3hrs is a long trek to go veiw a car esp when there are plenty around, there is a great one for sale on here from a member which is cheaper ok its in blue but still.
I would keep looking closer to home if you can.

Have a look at my thread as I rock the granit sky 1C6 colour
Granite Sky is the one I really want! I could live with black, blue (only the darker one) and even silver - just not red, green, gold or that really light sky blue colour.
I'd much much rather have the darker interior - so much I'm (possibly absurdly) considering, if I can't find all the spec-ticks I want, buying one with cream, then buying another and doing a full seats/carpet/roof/lining/trim swap over (madness!!!!)
Trouble is, there doesn't seem to be a lot, in fact very few, Sport models for sale near me (and I'm barely a stones throw from London (in Essex), least manuals in grey with the dark interior - and none at all with that kit on (which I know shouldn't be a high point on the reason to buy list, but I do think it really sets the front end off...
It needs to be more supra shaped and purpler!
Welcome to Outlaws
Hahahaha already said about urs
Matt, what's the prefrence regarding the sport model, mines a SE and as most people ungrade suspension and stuff does it matter its only bling trim and tints that make it different from the SE model
You may have more luck
I'm open to SE's, but I thought chances are I'll only own one once, might as well get the top tree model (if possible/financially viable). I was under the impression, possibly wrongly, the Sport had slightly lower, and possibly slightly firmer, suspension, different grille, late models had darker tint rear lights, and there were a few more than had the darker dash/console trim (seems most, if not all, of the SE's have the goldish colour dash/console trim)
I'll go find Speedfreak's ad, since Herts is not far from me at all
Get an is300, better car all round.
If its shameless plugs you are after, how about mine?
Is a 54 plate IS300- (far superior to those lesser '200s you are considering!:Chair
In the most desirable colour- Granite Sky- with18' Aero's.
Its yours for £850 more than the one in the ebay ad!
Had a machine polish couple of weeks ago- looking gorgeous!
