Has anyone else fitted new speakers on the rear parcel shelf?
I fitted mine nearly a year ago now, and no matter what I try there is always
a really bad vibration/rattle whenever I crank up the stereo.
I know its not the parcel shelf, as thats packed out with sound insulation.
They speakers are bolted down tight on wooden mounts.
But there is still this rattle, anyone else had any problems with this????

yes, so rear speakers removed, that solved the problem until Redz put a good amp onto my sub now the rattle is there again:lol: He told me to pack the underside of the shelf with foam, haven't got round to it just yet though.

it could be anything under the shelf or just the shelf itself catching something.. maybe not backin properly?

take the shelf out and turn it up and see if the rattle is still there..

if so get a piece of 1 1/2" high density compressed foam and spray glue it to the underside of the shelf.. makes it quite difficult to gert the shelf back in but removes any rattles..

are u sure its not the speakers themselves?

I thought it could be the boot springs, as they sit right on the magnet of the speaker when the boot is open. But can't see how far they are away from speakers when the boot is closed.
Don't think its the speakers as they are Vibe 6x9s and rated up to 350w and i'm only running them off the head unit.
Think I might try re-cutting the wooden mounts, and getting some foam like Redz suggested.
Cheers James

Or a torch and look through the ski hatch when the boot is closed.
