Ok guys suddenly my boot release has stopped working from the lever in the car, i can open the boot by key but the lever doesn't do anything.
Is the lever on a cable release? or any ideas?

Dan have you turned the lock round on the boot? if its in a certain position it wont work with the interior release? its part of the valet setup on the car itself?

Yes mate, if you turn the lock round to a certain position it wont open with a 2 button key (iirc) same as the glove box, you can lock it with the 3 button but the 2 button one wont unlock it or something like that? stops people going in your boot if its in for a service etc

My cable slipped on the inside of the boot, causing the release to stop working (interior handle went floppy). It is worth removing the carpet cover and taking a look, its black and on the right had side as your looking at the back of the car. Solved with 2 tie wraps.

I used a claw hammer (the claw bit) to remove the plastic retainers of the carpet.
