I might show my n00bness here...so please feel free to whip out your flame throwers Smile

On the IS200 the final o2 sensor is at the beginning of the mid-pipe, after the cat which is located in the downpipe, right? Therefore, I'm assuming that this means the purpose of that o2 sensor is to determine if the cat is working and whether emission levels are ok?

However, on the IS300 the final o2 sensor is in the down-pipe, just after the Y join and BEFORE the final cat. Therefore, there is no sensor to determine whether the final cat is functional. So, does this mean that this sensor is used for another purpose (maybe to trim fuel settings to avoid rich/lean)?

Or am I missing something?

So cat removal from the y-pipe shouldn't pose any problems as there's no sensor to monitor that?

And if I can find a box of tricks to delete B2S2, I could slap a wideband sensor in its place and then begin my AFR tuning? Also with B2S2 deleted, when I do adjust AFR, the ECU wont notice and wont try to undo my changes?
