Best Oil Filter for IS200?
Best Oil Filter for IS200?
Getting my car serviced this week, bought all the oils from Opie over the past few months when they had deals on.
I've also got a BLITZ Racing Oil Filter along my travels.
My question is, is it actually any better than OEM or for the few quid it costa should I just get them to fit an OEM one?
EDIT: Or would it be worth maybe getting one of those HKS Hybrid Magnetic ones?
You can't go wrong with oem.

jimxms ^ as above. I've read in a few places that the OEM is the best. The only thing I'd maybe do is spray paint the OEM one red and get some TRD decals for it so it looks a bit more sporty..lol

Stoney That seems like a lot of effort Jim. Why not just buy a red TRD one to start with?

Though from previous research, I think I recall the OEM IS200 one being identical internally to the TRD one, and that you are paying extra for the branding!

As already said, stick with the OEM filter from Lexus/Toyota.
You'll be thinking of the non return valve. Stops the oil draining out of the filter when the engine's off or something along those lines.
Stick with OEM - if you want a better OEM filter you *might* find that the V8 filters fit. These are about twice the size of the standard filter and have a much finer filtering material in them. The Supra guys use them a lot as an upgrade.
