Anyone got any suggestions?

I spend most of my time in the car on the M25 and M23 (at National Speed Limit:lolSmile

It sounds like one of the windows is open just a little with a faint noise/whistle- I've checked these and inspected the door seals for tears, but nothing evident.

Any thoughts?

I have a similar problem, its coming from the rear passenger side of the car, only thing i can see is the strip that runs along the roof is loose towards the back not sure if that would do it

Thanks for the replies....

Car is a 54 plate.

Wife mentioned tonight that she thought it was the front nearside and that the door sounded like it hasnt closed properly (but was).

Think new door seals are in order in the new year.

Anyone else replaced theirs?

Hi mate, I have the same problem. Check to see if the front window has been replaced, if it has, then it might have been fitted badly. This is what has happened to mine. :-)

im sure its because when the windows go up and down they also move in and out so at the top when done up it sits more towrds the inside of the car and if not seated correctly can leave a bit of a gap, watch it and you'll see what i mean, all you have to do is find the spot where it sits best in the window sometimes lifting the glass towards the top of the door helps as it drops if people lean on it when its open, then turn the window locks on so you dont open it again, happy christmas:carolers:

Definitely the door seals, there was a thread on my.is many years ago about using some kind of rubber tubing as a simple fix for this - been looking for it to do it myself but can't find it, if anyone remembers it or can find it please send it my way! Smile

I get that all the time but mines normally down to a dodgy curry :tongue_smilie:
Lol, try soaking the seals in WD40 this will soften them up a bit and hopefully make them seal a bit better.

NO!!!

never soak or spray rubber with wd40 or other petroleum based product - they will swell and perish and you will have to replace them.

its sealant backing cord - its closed cell foam cord/backing used to fill the gap in large tile gaps before selaing or grouting. a builders merchant should have it trade name is cordex.

make a cut in the door seal, work thru a cable etc, attach the cordex, pull the cable thru and reseal the door seal wth wetsuit repair sealant
