gearbox whine
gearbox whine
after fitting a new clutch i still had a whining noise, much like a release bearing noise (but that was replaced) when the clutch is up you can hear the noice, but when its down its silent. Since it had a new clutch all i can think of is the gearbox input shaft bearing?
the box has been replaced at some point, it also has a crunch in 3rd when cold, sounds like a new gearbox could be the cure?

See about this noise? Does it go away when you put a bit of pressure on the clutch pedal?
As for the crunch I don't know, could be synchro wear. I put this oil in mine and it eliminated the notchy shift between 1st and 2nd. It's worth a try.
