Happy new year everyone, hope you all had a good one! I've decided one of my new year's resolutions has to be to finally get my car sorted, so does anyone know a decent auto electrician in the north london area?

I've had the battery tested and it's fine, so something is definitely draining it - if I don't use the car for over a week then in most cases it won't start. Only other weird symptom is that if I press the open/close button for the satnav it will then sit there opening and closing on its own for the next 10 minutes or so so that may somehow be related.

Either way I need to put an end to this asap as it's getting annoying now, does anyone have any recommendations?

Def sounds like a short in that system mate.

One thing to try may be unplug the satnav and then leave the car a week. See if that improves the situation.

If it does then one of the members can surely look at your satnav for you if you post it. Could be a lot cheaper?

Good idea, do I need to actually remove the unit or just pull a fuse?

I'd remove the unit and unplug it, you can put the unit back into place in the mean time just don't plug it in.
