hi all
A friend of mine has a lexus is200. he told me his oil pressure light came up so i checked the oil and that was fine. to be sure i changed the oil and oil filter. But then still the oilpressure light came up.
After that i measured the oil pressure and it had no oil pressure.
So i came to the conclusion that the oil pump needed to be replaced because the relief valve of the oil pump was stuck in place.

So i changed the oil pump and put everything back together.
Then the car was running very smooth and the oilpressure light didnt come up.
Everything seemed fine and he was happy. So i said take it for a drive around the corner. But when he came back something was wrong. There was a ticking noise coming from the engine.
It looks like the ticking noise comes from under the valve cover. I really dont know what could have happened. The car was running so smooth after oilpump replacement and then after driving the ticking noise came up.
I allready checked the timing of the belt and seems to be good.
checked cylinder pressure and the cylinder pressure check was good on all cylinders.
Could it be that there is still a bit of damage because the car had no oilpressure before?
Does anyone had the same problem?
I really dont know what to do.

Allright found the problem.
Due to the oilpreassure problem the crankcase bearings are worn and thus giving a loud ticking noise.
Gotta change the engine. Seems to be the cheapest option
