Brake pad cost
Brake pad cost
While they've got my car at Lexus they said I needed new rear pads (90% worn) so asked how much to replace them and they quoted £146+VAT!
Then asked how much pads were on their own, and they were only £26+VAT
But then based on the age of the car, they said they can do it for £99 all in - seems like people with new cars are getting charged a lot more than older ones!
^^ well done Gord, I will do them for your, or give Gord a hand if you are going to ACE
Gord If your going to the next meet i will fit them for free mate

Lexus are offering fixed price repairs on older Lexus (over 5 years I think) for certain items like brake pads, discs etc. http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/lexuscare/...omise.aspx
When my car was in for service they rung me to say my rear pads needed changing and they could do them for £99. I declined there offer as I am more than capable of doing these myself and obviously the biggest charge is the labour.
Funny thing is when I picked the car up they told me that the pads aren't in need of changing immediately and will probably be OK for few 1000 miles yet
Yep it's always going to be a bit more at Lexus, but for me £99 was fine - I just compare to getting it done at WIM so adding the time to go there and the fuel and stuff it's all about the same.
But can't believe they're charging almost £200 on newer cars, definitely wouldn't be paying that.
Fry-Up £90 for a battery tho ?!
