Going on "holiday" for a bit.................
That's a real shame if it all falls down now - what has changed in the legislation that's made things more difficult now?
There was a rule of thumb that was the minimum investment in a business was roundabout $100K, it looks like they have moved this to $200k - we are investing just below $200k. The business also has to give an owner income above the state average - to ensure we are not a drain on their economy, our business is currently doing well above the state average so this is the good bit, the saving grace. When we came out we were buying a business of almost double the minimum. not the case now!!
The investment figure is not "set in stone" it is open to interpratation by the embassy on what they feel is an appropriate amount for the investment in question. So we are close to the "new" rule of thumb but may not be close enough. We could invest in new equipment to bring the investment to $200K but our lawyer is not sure the embassy will see it as part of the initial investment, they may see it as cheating which is worse still.
well sorry to hear all about this, you know sweden has just one rule. that you can shovel snow from you drive without dropping dead but on the above, we hope it all works out for you both, think positive and smile alot.
This is the risk of going outside the EU - we knew the risks and planned accordingly, we have a back up plan also should this not work, but we are still hopeful that we get through.
