My Toyota MR2 build thread - 1994 GT-S
Slightly unrelated to my list, but I have picked up the 2 bolts to bolt the chargecooler core down, a new throttlebody gasket (mine is rusty!! wtf) and a new HT lead set from Toyota today, those will be going on the car when I finish work.
Edit: Also got an sbits shift bearing kit and a speedsource shifter bush kit in the post today, should tighten up gearshift even more!
2T> Guess how much a rev3+ HT lead set is, including the king lead and the plastic holder thing they go in...
Well, unsurprisingly the HT leads made a massive difference - the car doesn't misfire after a hard run anymore and I've got rid of a flat spot I had about about 6krpm. It feels like it just revs a bit more smoothly as well. I'd like to go back to SRR again now, it would be interesting to see what difference the flywheel + engine mount + replacement ignition components make. I reckon I might be 10bhp up on my previous result.

would be interesting, glad the leads sorted the flat spot

Great to hear about some small changes making a big difference !
Little more to report, fitted my speedsource solid bushes for the gearshift platform which seem to have made no difference at all so I guess the old bushes were in pretty good nick. Ordered another bottle of silkolene pro, new oil pump + gasket, new oil filter, new water pump + gasket and a load more coolant. Feeling pretty pissed at the car at the moment cause it's costing a small fortune (once the pumps are fitted it will have cost me in excess of £700 this month with nothing to show for it)! And I haven't got anywhere near doing the brakes or the new turbo yet!
If my mood improves I might wash it prior to Japshow.

Fair point, right pain though cause the pumps are not really something you wanna risk breaking on you... and in that car not something you can easily do yourself!!
The plan is to collect the parts later this week and get it back to Pacific Works ASAP. They're going to fit the oil pump pulley from an N/A onto the new pump which is 1 tooth smaller so will make it run at higher pressure. Sump off, cleaned up and seal checked, strainer cleaned out, oil leak mess cleaned up, pulley replacement on oil pump, oil change & coolant flush & both new pumps installed for £230 :thumbup1:
