jimxms For some reason I thought I read that the TRD ones weren't even as good as the OEM's?

I was told a few years ago that the TRD ones are EXACTLY the same as OEM, and therefore no reason to pay extra for them. (Though I cannot guarantee the accuracy of that information.)

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

toxo You'll be thinking of the non return valve. Stops the oil draining out of the filter when the engine's off or something along those lines.

Stick with OEM - if you want a better OEM filter you *might* find that the V8 filters fit. These are about twice the size of the standard filter and have a much finer filtering material in them. The Supra guys use them a lot as an upgrade.

OHHH, an upgrade on the sly! got a part number i may try that

90915-yzzd3. I've got a box of 10 of them, they are normally about £10 each though!

Edit: See http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/parts/t...index.html although bear in mind that the part numbers have been revised since that article was written.

When you buy them in bulk they become £6 each and both me and Dan can use them on our engines (2JZ and 1UZ) Smile So technically I have half a box of 10 I suppose!

What are your thoughts on it Marc? I can't see it making that big a difference TBH but the V8s do keep their oil very clean...
