correct engine swap has a lot more headroom though, I would rather pay the extra for the headroom than be at my limit.

Engine swap seems to be 7K plus though. For 4K for turbo etc, you could still buy some new internals and make it a similar price.

Marsdendean Surly your conversion was cheeper stav, even including your planned single turbo?

Stav got a special (very good !) deal though, since he was effectively the guinea pig for the 1G-GTE swap. Silverline are now quoting 7K+ for the same job.

Marsdendean is that for the twin turbo setup? These prices are outanding. .

What prices do you mean ? I think Stav paid around £4K for his twin turbo 1G-GTE swap, although he can of course correct me and provide further info. I was quoted £7.5K by Silverline to do the same job again.

I paid 5k for my conversion all done and dusted.

gonna cost me about 2.4k to go big single.

Manifold, wastegate, turbo, turbo blanket, pipe, all fitting and remapped.

ok, I would normally use "outstanding" to mean outstanding in a good way, but I found it hard to believe you meant the prices were outstandingly good !

Bear in mind though, that very few mods are "worth it" if you look at it clinically. Equally you could apply that to other hobbies. Depends on the amount of pleasure you get out of it though ?
