I have heard it may do this also, but never as 100% solid fact. Anyone?

sprinter2012 That's an interesting one, I'd heard that was the reason you can't remap the stock ecu, as it just teaches itself the old settings. Not really thought about it with piggybacks though, hmmm.

Yeah most IS300 owners who run piggies either have it wired so that power is cut to the ECU when they switch off the car, or they have a button under the dash to do the same thing.

The Split Second ESC1 that I've got running on my car gets around this though by intercepting the o2 sensors in the headers and when it detects the car is hitting boost (its got a boost sensor too) it mangles the signal from the o2 sensors to tell the ECU that the car is running with optimal fuel mix so the ECU doesn't make any adjustments.

Of course if you're running a piggy on an N/A car, the chances are that you wont notice you've lost the power that the initial piggy tune gave you anyway as the ECU will slowly adjust it over the course of several weeks under certain driving conditions. Its much more dangerous if you've got a supercharged / turbo car as it'll eventually lean right out and then one day when you hit boost. BANG.

You'd also be hard pushed to notice you'd lost the power again on an otherwise standard N/A IS200 if it tuned it back out, as you'd probably only be talking about 5bhp difference anyway!

Dimis is running a piggy back I think, with his charger and increased boost. One or two others must be too, and may know about it. It's the sort of thing Stav might know!

Moley, are you not going for a bigger pulley? As will this not require some form of piggy back and remap? I assume your Unichip cannot do this? Or I would expect you to be keeping it!
