toxo I'm not sure I like that but it's an improvement over the wood. I think if it were me I'd have sprayed them high-gloss black. I presume it doesn't look that blue in real life?

Any particular reason you reversed the pattern halfway along?

Ideally I would have liked to get them all water printed (or w/e its called) in some kind of a dark pattern. But I just needed to get rid of the wood asap as I felt like I should have been driving the car while smoking a pipe and wearing green slippers.

For some reason keeping the carbon pattern all in the same direction looked 'too perfect'.

is300_dino that look much better than the wood effect mate, the marbled effect one does look good though

Yeah I did look at an interior swap, but you can only get the panels from breakers in the USA and the parts aren't interchangeable Sad

dimis what about the wood gear knob mate? are you going to change it?

Yeah I'm going to order in a TRD fully leather knob like I had on my IS300, and also get a real leather steering wheel skin (fitted one) to cover up the wood wheel.

sprinter2012 Looking good, I've never been a big fan of wood in cars anyway. Maybe in an e-type jag, but not a modern one. Carbon fibre and brushed aluminium all the way :thumbup1:

Me neither, though I do like the XKR Jag with Black Ash wood trim. One day I will have one!

Not a big di-noc fan are you John?

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Ran out of Di-noc long enough to do the door trim so I'm going to have to put in another order to get it all finished.

(BTW, the iphone camera seems to have gone to sh*t since upgrading to OS5)

That does look a lot better than the earlier pics - agree with the comment that a piano black finish would look awesome but this is definitely an improvement on standard.

Never really been a fan of Lexus wood, it's all genuine wood and stuff but for some reason doesn't look right to me (except for a few of the finishes)

Yeah totally. I really hate the fake wood finishes, and although the Lex is obviously real it doesn't look it.

At least now when someone gets in my car and says "thats fake CF isn't it", I can just say yes without having to argue that my wood is real :p

You have the same colour wood as in Dufus but I think having the grey interior makes a difference with the wood.

What will you do with the steering wheel?

Yeah I agree. I actually quite like the look of the wood in the cream interior (not seen it in grey), but it stands out far too much on black for my liking.

There's a company in the USA called wheelskins who make real leather steering wheel covers to fit the LS430. You have to stitch them together yourself, but they make them in any colour combo you like and they look quite nice.

I remember there was a company where you could get replacements for the wood sections in different finishes - can't for the life of me remember who it was though!

They were also quite expensive so probably isn't that important!
