so i'm looking into making one of these bad boys and want to get as much info as possible about everthing.

was thinking of using fibre glass and then fitting a heat reflective coat of pain or other on the inside. wanted to go with a custon design that i'm working on and just wanted feedback about the best way to goConfusedmoke:

Best thing to do mate is to make a mould out of card, you can put it on top of the engine and cut it round the parts you want to keep on display, then add more shapes to give it a different look? Then cover it in tin foil then add the fibreglass to make the shape, might need a release agent so you can separate it from the mould?

Instead of the heat reflective paint i'd use something like this CLICK ME? should give you better insulation against the engine temps against the fibreglass? :thumbup1:

Simple 2" wide "sticky backed plastic" (Selotape) works as well as anything for a release agent.
