steviewevie Hopefully it is something relatively easily sorted, like the head gasket gone.
Fingers crossed for you, keep us posted.

Gutted mate, is it salvageable?
but good news if it's salveageable.
How is the head mangled then ? Like valves destroyed ? Or you mean the head itself is distorted ?
Part of your turbo come off?
or somethign gone through the Turbo as well?
Hope the damage is relatively minimal (e.g. just the valves and nothing else).
I presume it'll be cheaper to find a used head from another engine to swap onto there ? Or at least raid for its valves ?

Well, I picked the car up this morning and drove it straight to its MOT, which it passed (of course, lol). Initial feedback is very good, it's really stigging fast but that might just be a biased opinion from driving my Fiesta a lot. I wasn't going to push it due to new seals everywhere in the head and the turbo, and the new head gasket, which will all want a few heat cycles before they're settled. As well as the fact that it's quite slippy out there!! It's got no tax at the moment anyway
Got a few pics of marginally tarted up engine bay:
Lots more blue, including the SFS MR2-specific intake hose which they've only just started making. Not sure that the mix of blue and orange hoses works yet, so I may still just make them all blue.
Chris's handiwork is obscured at the moment, but that heat shield's coming off shortly
Chargecooler expansion bottle is now at least mounted somewhere, although that will get fettled a bit
Dump valve mounted much more sensibly, no more rubbing on the cross brace and no more mis-sized B&Q hose!!
Cam cover is now black to match the chargecooler instead of flaking off white paint. This makes a pretty big difference IMHO, and I don't know why I didn't think of it.
Now that the head's been off, everything's been cleaned up - you couldn't previously see the fuel rail, it was just coated in a thick layer of stig. Now all clean and shiny
