Random thought - but with induction I think you produce less torque low end as a trade off for bhp? Maybe there isn't enough torque for the engine to keep ticking over under load - however small. Just feather the clutch when slowly manouvering.

may be worth checking power steering idle-up circuit, as we know pas puts a load on the engine, so the ecu will detect this and raise the idle in the same manner a/c does, as you were parking with power steering on it appears the engine lost rpm and due to 600 base speed, stalling occured.
