Removing front windows
Removing front windows
Hey guys, I got done by VOSA for having front tints and was given a prohibation notice so I've picked up some spare front windows which are not tinted to swap over to get the notice removed.
I've done a search but can't see anything, how easy are the windows to remove out. Is there a guide anywhere?
Thanks!
Why you removing them? cant you just take the tint off?
but look here for a guide:

your car will have a marker on it even though youve repaired it so next time you get seen you will find you will get a bigger punishment...

Though I admire your attempts to get one over on The Plot, I really do. Do you think they have not thought of that already? That Prohibition Order does not disappear when you remove the tints, it's recorded against both your name and the registration of your car on Police computers. Plus these computers are fitted to most Traffic Police vehicles these days, with ANPR cameras front and rear!
Just loose the tints. You will get done again, and next time it will cost you.
I don't believe that you are allowed to fit any tinting film to the front windows these days. As they must allow 70% light transmission (70% for front windows, 75% for windscreen) normal untinted glass gives about 85% AT BEST (not 100% as many people assume) so any LEGAL tinting would be barely noticeable anyway.
